What is a Glazier? Want to learn more...
Glaziers, also referred to as Architectural Metal Mechanics, are a Red Seal certified trades-people trained to fabricate and install a variety of custom glass and metal applications for homes, storefronts and large-scale commercial projects. At Redline, our glaziers work through a 4 year BC ITA apprenticeship program that trains and builds skills that are up to date with the current industry standards. There are essential tools and skills that are developed to produce consistent quality products for our valued partners and clients. |
Through our Redline Glass Mentorship Committee Mandate, we train apprentices in the following skills to show above average competency in not only the fabrication but also installation of; windows, doors, storefronts, glass fascades, skylights, railings, mirrors, and shower doors. Including extensive focus on layout and measuring, reading architectural drawings, aerial equipment, flashing, caulking, membranes, hardware, automated doors, electronic hardware and security grilles. We also train time management, task planning, and communication with contractors and team members. It is through our mentorship program that we are building our team of glaziers as leaders in the industry.
Our core values are safety, staff development and continuous improvement, and we focus extensive resources towards those values.
We also have an active Quality Assurance & Control Program, in the case of new installations all products fabricated in our facility (such as doors and frames) go through an inspection with a Fabrication Quality Control Checklist before release to site. Sites also go through an Installation Quality Control Checklist, both checklists are entered into the project records.
